This
was the first year Team 342 participated and we were in
for a big learning curve. Sometimes confusing, sometimes
frustrating, but always exciting as we designed, built
and competed with our first robot design. With a determined
attitude and the motto "Brilliant Strategy, Flawlessly
Executed", Team 342 won the Rookie All-Star Award
and Robotics Competition Finalists Award. In addition,
their gracious professionalism contributed to Team 342
earning the Johnson & Johnson Best Sportsmanship Award.
Team
342 brought to the competition a new concept for an organized
and safe work environment for pit areas. This concept
was shared with approximately 60 other teams as the most
admired and photographed pit area at the National Competition
at EPCOT. Team 342 students and team leaders shared with
others how to organize and build a pit area with safety
as the main focus.
In
our rookie year at the Kennedy Space Center Southeastern
Regional Competition we ranked 12th out of 40 Teams. At
the Nationals at EPCOT Center we placed 40th out of 280
Teams (top 14%).
