This year's theme: Design an invention for your community

Steps
  1. Review the rules.
  2. Attend animation workshops to learn 3DS Max software.
  3. Discuss various concepts; throw out logical suggestions; keep crazy ideas.
  4. Sketch out storyboard.
  5. Start creating 3D models (wire frame meshes).
  6. Import some 3D models from Design Team files (thank you!)
  7. Add colors & texture maps to the models.
  8. Create key scenes.
  9. Check deadline. Hurry up!
  10. Animate models & cameras using key frames & paths.
  11. Do check renders of individual scenes at low resolution (320 x 240)
  12. Adjust as necessary, then render at high-resolution (720 x 480 resolution, 30 frames per second).
  13. Write, record narration and background music
  14. Arrange the individual scenes, narration, music and titling using video editing software.
  15. Create low-resolution video. Review. Make adjustments. Repeat as necessary
  16. Create high-resolution video. Find & correct tiny errors. Repeat.
  17. Log onto FIRSTbase.  Fill out required forms.  Upload giant (~200 MB) animation entry.
  18. Sleep!
